Minetek’s Elegant Glass Operable Walls

Minetek have installed a Bildspec’s Series 100 Double Glazed Side Stacking Operable Glass Wall as part of their new North Sydney office fit out. Situated in-between the boardroom and breakout room, and adjacent to sweeping views of the harbour and Sydney Bridge, the operable glass wall appears elegant and allows for see-through connection of spaces with acoustic reduction properties.

Apart from facilitating the creating of a flexible space, this Rw45-rated operable glass wall is able to greatly reduce a significant amount of external noise from the breakout room passing into the boardroom. Rw (Weighted Sound Reduction Index) represents the measurement of this reduction in sound. Different combinations of top/bottom seals and board constructions are crucial in the wall’s ability to overcome sound transmission issues. The wall at Minetek has fixed top sweep seals with bottom mechanical retracting seals.
